Welcome to New Prospect Baptist Church!

NP101 BEGINS IN FEBRUARY

          We will begin another “NP101” class beginning Sunday, February 5. This 6-week class is for new members or for those who are prayerfully considering joining New Prospect. The class will meet in the church auditorium, beginning at 9:15am each Sunday morning. If you would like to enroll for this class, you may do so in the following ways:

1. Call the Church office and let us know. We will need the names of each participant

2. Email me at rcurtis@newprospect.net

3. Use the “Registration Card” that I call attention to each service for guests to fill out. Just put your name, your phone, and write on the comments section “NP101.”

          Let me encourage you to attend this class. We deal with who we are as a church and a number of other areas. We also allow for a “Q&A” segment in each class. The class is free and materials are provided. You will only need your Bible. Hope you register for it.

I will begin a new series on Wednesday night, February 8 entitled: “How to Study the Bible.” I’ll be sharing practical ways in which you can “dig deeper” into the Word. I’m excited about this time together. I want to encourage you to attend as well as those that you may know who would like to learn more about how to do so. The first message will be “Our Bible and the Baptist Faith and Message.” Hope you can attend.

JANUARY EVENTS

Tickets are also on sale for our Valentine’s Banquet, which will be held on Saturday, February 11. The cost is $10.00 per ticket.

We have allot going on here as we begin 2012. Don’t miss out on these wonderful opportunities.

2012 NEEDS

We are continuing to publish these needs through January. Some have responded, but we still need more. Please prayerfully consider your place of service:

AWANA: We are in need of “listeners” to hear our children quote their verses. We especially need men. The “listening” sessions take place between 6:30pm and 7:00pm. Please contact Patti Mothershead or me if you can do so. This requires no training, just a willingness to listen to the children recite verses.

WELCOME CENTER GREETERS: We have purchased a desk for our foyer. We are in the process of getting it ready. It will serve as a “Welcome Center” for those who visit our church. We will provide brochures and information about our church. We also hope to use it as a “registration station” for upcoming events, etc. We need folks who would be willing to man the station each Sunday beginning at 9:00am through about 9:20am. If you are willing to do so, please let me know. We’ll be working on this for the next few weeks.

SUNDAY SCHOOL HELPERS/SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS:  We need folks who would be willing to assist with our younger classes in various ways as well as those who would be willing to serve as substitute teachers. If interested, please let me, Pastor Scott, or Joey Simpson (Our SS Director) know. Please also indicate what age group you would be willing to assist in or substitute teach.

MINUTEMENT MINISTRY: While we have folks serving in this area, we can always use more. You would be asked to drop off a “Thank You” bag sometime after morning worship at the home of any first-time guests that attend. You would not be asked to actually visit in the home, but to thank them for attending, give them the bag with a small gift and information, and invite them to attend again. If you are interested, please let me know as soon as possible.

VALENTINE BANQUET

          If you’ve not yet purchased your tickets, please do so. The cost is $10.00 per person. Childcare will be provided. This is always a wonderful time of fellowship, food, and fun. Get your tickets this Sunday. It is for anyone who would like to attend.
